Carving Classes Starting soon

Winter  carving classes are starting the 3rd.week of January 2012.  It will be a
10-week course for $150.

Only basic tools are required to get started.
The course will be held on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday  Usually Thursday, but it changes occasionally depending on the needs of the students.  Classes have a minimum of 4 and a max. of 8 students.  If there are enough beginners I run a separate class for them.  They run from 7-9pm in the evening at my shop at 2320 Shirley Rd south of Port Perry.

The Classes are very informal and relaxed.  Everyone works at there own pace.

8 Basic Steps to Successful Woodcarving

  2. Make a scale drawing or plan for that carving.
  3. Find a piece of wood that suites that carving (size and material).
  4. Transfer your drawing or plan to the piece of wood.
  5. Roughing out or grounding.
  6. Modelling.
  7. Detailing.
  8. Finishing.
